Former violin prodigy Freddie Ward is lost after the death of his mother and the loss of his promising career. His famous father, front man of a rock band, desperate to help his grieving son, concocts a scheme that forces Freddie to join the band that will open for his dad’s own band in their upcoming tour.

Freddie, who had banished music from his life, finds himself in an environment that constantly reminds him of his loss, not to mention the hostility he faces from the band’s guitarist, Xander. Despite that, he must work with the band to prepare for the upcoming tour, composing music which captures the hopes and dreams of each member of the band.

As Freddie learns more about his band mates, and their professional relationship turns to friendship, he must battle with his head and his heart to reconcile the grief of his loss telling him to quit the band with the budding future he can envision as lead singer of 4ward.
